CONVERSION, WESTERN FORCE, HAYWARD. 14-40. Hayward adds the extras from the kicking tee, and that's the final act of this match. The Blues have made a statement with this result, in their quest to secure a play-off berth. They've certainly improved their chances of reaching the knockout stages of the tournament with this performance while the Force's play-off chances have suffered a major setback. It sets up some exciting encounters in the tournament's final league matches.

TRY, WESTERN FORCE, STANDER! 12-40. The Force are on the attack, inside the Blues' 22, and Brynard Stander barges over, after seeing a gap close to the try-line!

It's still one-way traffic as the blues continue to hammer away at the Force's line. Ahki and Luatua go close but the Force's defence stands firm! The ball comes out to the backs and West stabs a grubber kick through which Hayward gathers before setting off on a run! He is hauled in by Halai but has the presence of mind to kick ahead but the ball rolls into touch close to the blues' 22-metre line.

CONVERSION, BLUES, WEST! 7-40. West makes no mistake from the kicking tee and the result is a foregone conclusion now!

TRY, BLUES, AHKI! 7-38. Pita Ahki runs onto a flat pass from Piri Weepu, inside the Force's 22, and slices through the home side's defence like a hot knife through butter before scoring under the posts!

The Force are penalised for obstruction. West puts the ball out on the home side's 22-metre line.

The Force show greater urgency on attack and take the ball out wide with their backs! They're running towards the touchline however, and when a Hayward drops a pass behind his back the ball rolls into touch.

CONVERSION, WESTERN FORCE, HAYWARD. 7-33. Jayden Hayward slots the conversion to add some respectability to the scoreboard for the hosts.

TRY, WESTERN FORCE, CHARLES! 5-33. The Force have broken their duck! From a penalty, Matt Hodgson taps and goes before passing to Sam Wykes. He is stopped just short of the line but offloads to the on-rushing Nathan Charles, who crashes over!

The Force put huge pressure on the Blues at a scrum on the halfway line! The referee eventually penalises the visitors and Haylett-Petty puts the resulting penalty into touch inside the Blues' 22.

The Blues' dominance continues! They launch an attack from inside their half and are soon close to the home side's try-line! Saili and Braid are at the hear of it and Mealamu and Hall also carry with great intent!

CONVERSION, BLUES, WEST. 0-33. West adds the easy extras to add to the hosts' woes!

TRY, BLUES, BRAID! 0-31. Peter Saili takes the ball up and when he is stopped close to the line, he offloads to Braid, who pumps his legs and crashes over under the posts under a mass of bodies!

Nathan Charles blocks a grubber kick from Moala and regathers! He sets off on a run before kicking ahead. West saves the day when he dives onto the bouncing ball inside his 22.

The Blues are back on the attack inside the Force's half! Nonu, George Moala, Mealamu and Steven Luatua are all prominent ball-carriers.

Yellow Card
YELLOW CARD, BLUES, DONNELLY! Tom Donnelly will spend the next 10 minutes in the sin bin for an infringement, on defence, at a ruck. This just after referee Rohan Hoffmann warned the Blues captain Luke Braid about the continuous infringements from his side at the rucks.

Faumuina is pinged for a ruck infringement. Holmes puts the resulting penalty out inside the Blues' 22.

The Blues are back on the attack and soon inside the Force's half! Nonu and Visinia do well with strong carries but it all comes to nothing as Patrick Tuipulotu knocks on inside the Force's 22.

Josh Holmes gets the second half underway! His kick is a deep one, and Bryn Hall gathers before setting up a ruck on the edge of his 22-metre line.

The Force are taking the ball through the hands, in an effort to get something before half-time but they concede another turnover! The ball comes out to Tom Donnelly, who kicks upfield! Haylett-Petty gathers inside his 22 and sets up a ruck but one of the Force's forwards knocks on in the ensuing melee. The referee blows his whistle and that signals half-time. The Blues have played a near-perfect half! The Force will have to dig deep if they want to get something from this game, after the break!

Ben McCalman sets off on an attacking run but is stopped in his tracks by a big hit from Faumuina!

McMeniman hammers away at the Blues' line and is held up in the contact by Luke Braid and Faumuiana!

The Force have been camped close to the Blues' try-line for the past five minutes. From a scrum, Ben McCalman, takes it into contact before the bull goes wide where Marchel Brache is jockeyed into touch by Halai.

The Force are hammering away at the Blues' line but are met by a wall of defenders!

Nonu is penalised when he doesn't roll away at a ruck. Haylett-Petty puts the resulting penalty into touch deep inside the Blues' 22.

Nonu tries to bring some relief, with a kick into touch, close to his try-line but his effort is a poor one and slices off the side of his boot into touch midway between his try-line and his 22.

Frank Halai takes the ball into contact but the Blues are penalised when he holds onto the ball on the ground. Dane Haylett-Petty kicks for touch and puts the ball out midway between the halfway line and the Blues' 22.

CONVERSION, BLUES, WEST! 0-26. West slots the conversion to put more daylight between his side and their hosts!

TRY, BLUES, NONU! 0-24. Ma'a Nonu runs onto the ball at pace and shrugs off three tackles before scoringh is side's bonus-point try!

Adam Coleman is pinged for going off his feet at a ruck. West kicks for touch and puts the ball out on the home side's 22-metre line.

TRY, BLUES, VISINIA! 0-19. Steven Luatua does brilliantly when he wins a turnover inside the Force's 22. The ball goes wide and West throws a long pass to Lolagi Visinia, who out-sprints the cover defence before scoring in the left-hand corner!

CONVERSION, BLUES, WEST. 0-14. West adds the extras to extend the visitors' lead.

TRY, BLUES, FAUMUINA! 0-12. The visitors' forwards take the ball through several phases, deep inside the Force's 22, and when he spots a gap Charlie Faumuina crashes over from close quarters!

The Blues are in control of this game at the moment. They take the ball through several phases until Keven Mealamu is bundled into touch, just outside the Force's 22, by Hugh McMeniman.

CONVERSION, BLUES, WEST! 0-7. West holds his nerve this time and adds the two-pointer.

TRY, BLUES, WEST! 0-5. Charlie Faumuina wins aturnover at a ruck, close to the halfway mark, and the Blues take the ball wide to George Moala, who kicks ahead! The ball bounces kindly for Ihaia West, who dots down in the left-hand corner!

The Blues are awarded a penalty when several of the Force's forwards go off their feet at a ruck. It's within goal-kicking distance but West's effort is wide of the target!

Kick Off
And we're off! Ihaia West gets the game underway with a short, hanging kick. The ball is knocked back by one of the Blues forwards and Ma'a Nonu gathers before setting off on the attack.

Western Force will welcome back six players, including Ben McCalman and Alby Mathewson, from injury for this clash. That duo, Hugh McMeniman, Marcel Brache, Tetera Faulkner and Solomoni Rasolea return. McMeniman is back at blindside flanker in place of Angus Cottrell, who suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the Western Australian franchise's last match against the Crusaders in Christchurch. McMeniman will make his first appearance since breaking his collarbone during Round Six. Mathewson has been selected in his first match against the Blues since leaving Auckland to join the Force for the 2013 Super Rugby season. Brache will also make his return from an ankle injury suffered against the Stormers in Cape Town. He will join Chris Tuatara-Morrison in the centres.

Blues back-row Steven Luatua returns to the starting XV for the first time since Round 10. Luatua starts at blindside flanker alongside Jerome Kaino at number eight and captain Luke Braid on the other flank. Livewire midfielder Francis Saili will make his return from injury via the bench after missing the last four matches with an ankle sprain sustained during training. Kirwan has also included all the All Blacks in the starting XV and is hoping they bring their impressive Test form back to Super Rugby level.
