Full-time: Waratahs 32-8 Rebels
The Rebels were looking to finish well as they set up camp on the home ten-metre, but a knock-on sums up their day. That will be that at Allianz Stadium.
So the job is well-and-truly done now for the 'Tahs as they bounce back from that loss to the Brumbies.
CONVERSION, WARATAHS, FOLEY. 32-8. Simple points.
TRY, WARATAHS, FOLAU. 30-8. Beale is the creator as he breaks out from the 'Tahs 22 before finding his full-back on his shoulder for the run-in. Bonus!
Nightmare viewing for head coach McGahan as his men botch a five-metre line-out, with obstruction the call from ref Peyper. What a disappointing moment.
It's all a bit unstructured at the moment from both sides as the Rebels put-in on their own ten-metre. Do they have the attack to unlock this defence? It is with Higginbotham, who makes ground before his grubber is blocked by Folau. Waratahs scrum now.
No, is the short answer. The Rebels stand firm as Folau's offload to Ryan five out isn't held before side entry at ruck time gifts the visitors metres.
Scrum penalty to the Waratahs here - no prizes for guessing where this one is going. Can they score?
Polota-Nau is putting his body on the line for the cause here, with big hit after big hit hurting the Rebels. Play is on halfway, Rebels have the scrum.
The Waratahs could have had their bonus-point try there as Palu - in the thick of it already - saw his nice offload spilled by Horne. Frustration.
They're repelled back to halfway before the ball goes out on the 'Tahs 22. Net result, home throw. Skelton is leaving the action as here comes Palu.
So a man down but they have some territory and ball right now do the Rebels as Burgess puts in ten out.
YELLOW CARD, REBELS, ROBERTS. That possession did not last long at all as a kick downfield from fly-half Foley led to Rebels full-back Roberts being taken into touch and then throwing the ball away.
Alofa Alofa is off, replaced by Rob Horne, as the Waratahs look to fresh legs. Some defending to do for the hosts though here as English is on the 22.
So the lead has grown to seventeen points in the blink of an eye as the Waratahs move up the gears. This may now get ugly if the Rebels don't recover.
CONVERSION, WARATAHS, FOLEY. 25-8. Simple extras.
TRY, WARATAHS, FOLAU. 23-8. It was coming. Beale runs a lovely angle and then Folau switches for what is an easy run-in under the uprights. Class.
Almost a third try for the 'Tahs but Robinson is denied a close-range effort as Peyper spotted an earlier knock-on. Great eyes from the official.
The 'Tahs are on the march here as Foley now slices through the middle of the visiting defence on his own 22. He races over halfway before chipping over which leads to a hack into touch from the Rebels.
CONVERSION, WARATAHS, FOLEY. 18-8. Superb strike.
TRY, WARATAHS, BETHAM. 16-8. The Rebels are caught offside though on halfway so they will have some defending to do early on, with Foley kicking his side to within 30. First-phase ball off the line-out and Betham hits a great line to go in. Easy.
Welcome back to Sydney where the Waratahs are up 11-8 with 40 minutes remaining. They haven't been as deadly as usual however so the Rebels will be confident of turning this around. Let us see...
Half-time: Waratahs 11-8 Rebels
Nothing comes of that attack though as Roberts is the man spotted spilling the ball at the base of the ruck. Expect the 'Tahs to soon boot this out.
Benn Robinson is on for Paddy Ryan, jogging on to pack down for a scrum on the 'Tahs' ten-metre. It is Rebels ball with Tamati Ellison carrying hard.
PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY. 11-8. The 'Tahs are back in front again soon after as Higginbotham is caught by ref Jaco Peyper not releasing before getting up.
PENALTY, REBELS, HEGARTY. 8-8. That's much better.
Rebels ball and it's Tom English carrying on the left wing, close to the home 22. A penalty comes which hands Hegarty the shot to level the scores.
PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY. 8-5. Obstruction from the Rebels from the restart so the Waratahs are back in front. Easy points coughed up by the visiting side.
Hegarty misses again off the tee so we remain tied.
TRY, REBELS, HIGGINBOTHAM. 5-5. They're over. It's the Wallaby forward crashing over from close range.
Interesting call as the Rebels turn down a shot for three from close to the touchline and instead kick to the corner. They're backing themselves for sure.
The Rebels seem to be out of the woods as Leafa throws just inside his own half. The next score really could be crucial here at Allianz Stadium.
They've bombed it. First-phase ball went to Folau who fumbled in contact so it's now a Rebels scrum.
This is an ideal position for the Waratahs as they wait to pack down fifteen metres out, centre-field.
The Rebels survive for now as Roberts clears from a scrum. Another change for the visitors to mention as prop Toby Smith is off, replaced by Max Lahiff.
Tom Kingston comes on for the departing Mitchell then as play restarts with the Rebels clearing to Beale on halfway. Folau now regathers a chip and should have the pace to go in here...no, Hegarty gets back in time to bring him down. Great speed.
Stoppage here as Lachlan Mitchell is going off. It is a real shame for him on his 50th match for the Rebels. It looks like a knee injury for the wing.
But Tatafu Polota-Nau's throw doesn't go the five.
More territory for the Waratahs now as Higginbotham is penalised for a high tackle on Foley. Attacking line-out coming up for this powerful forward pack.
And they'll need to cut out mistakes like kicking the ball straight out, gifting possession and also territory to the home side. Rebels scrum soon after though on their own 22. This should be sent long.
The Rebels miss a chance to reduce the lead down to two points as Bryce Hegarty is off-target from the tee. They'll need to take all points on offer here.
So a positive start for the Waratahs but they must now defend as the Rebels look to hit back via the home ten-metre. Slow ball before it's coughed up.
Bernard Foley has missed the difficult conversion.
TRY, WARATAHS, ALOFA ALOFA. 5-0. An early score for the 'Tahs as Potgieter was involved before Alofa Alofa stepped Roberts on the right wing to go in.
And we're off in Sydney with Roberts getting the ball rolling for the Rebels before the Waratahs look to run from their own 22. Positive signs...
For the first time in Super Rugby history, the Rebels have named two Japanese players in their matchday squad. Centre Male Sau joins compatriot Shota Horie on the bench while coach Tony McGahan has made two changes to the starting XV, as Angus Roberts (full-back) and Paul Alo-Emile (tighthead prop) replace Jason Woodward and Laurie Weeks.
Waratahs boss Michael Cheika has made changes to his starting side as Sekope Kepu and Will Skelton come in while Jacques Potgieter moves to flank as Dave Dennis goes to eight instead of Wycliff Palu.
Hello and welcome from Allianz Stadium where the Waratahs host the Rebels in an Australian derby. Both come into this one on the back of respective defeats so will be keen to get back on the winning trail with victory today. The 'Tahs are favourites, with Israel Folau of course the danger-man at 15.
