CONVERSION, CHIEFS, CRUDEN! 10-18. Cruden adds the extras, which also denies the home side a bonus point! The referee blows the final whistle and the although the Chiefs are ecstatic they are also quite relieved as it could have been so different towards the end. The Crusaders, however, will be ruing their missed chances, especially the seven penalty-attempts which were off target.
TRY, CHIEFS, LOWE! 10-16. James Lowe has just won the game for the Chiefs! He intercepts a pass from Nafi Tuitavake inside his 22 and races the length of the field before scoring in the right-hand corner!
The Crusaders attack from a scrum just inside the Chiefs' half. After several phases, the ball spills forward and Nanai-gathers before kicking upfield.
PENALTY, CRUSADERS, TAYLOR! 10-11. Taylor lands a crucial three-pointer after Nick Crosswell is pinged for being offside.
From the scrum Lee-Lo cuts back inside and runs onto a pass from Taylor. He is tackled by Cruden and at the ensuing ruck Willie Heinz knocks on!
The Crusaders launch a drive from a line-out, close to the Chiefs' try-line. McCaw and Wyatt Crockett are key ball carriers but the Chiefs' defence holds firm. The ball fails to emerge from a ruck and the home side get the put-in to the scrum. Big moment!
Tikoirotuma is penalised for playing the ball from an offside position at a ruck. Taylor puts the penalty into touch deep inside the visitors'' 22.
The Chiefs are under the cosh inside their 22 as Lee-Lo sets off on a run down the left-hand touchline. he throws an inside pass to Nafi Tuitavake but one of the Chiefs gets a hand to the ball and knocks it backwards. The ball is spun wide to Asaeli Tikoirotuma, who kicks it into touch close to the halfway mark.
Taylor gets a chance to narrow the gap to a point after the Chiefs are penalised for a scrum infringement. This time his effort hits the post and the Chiefs get out of jail again. That's 21 points now that the hosts have missed from the kicking tee!
There's some concern in the Chiefs camp after Brodie Retallick and Ben Afeaki go down after an accidental clash of heads! There's plenty of blood flowing while the medics rush onto the field. Both are taken off to be assessed.
The Chiefs are under pressure at a scrum inside their 22. The ball comes rolling out to Cruden, who saves the day for his team-mates with a kick into touch just beyond the 22-metre line.
Taylor gets a chance to make it a one-point game, after Tim Nanai-Williams is penalised for not releasing Reynold Lee-Lo on the ground. His effort is just wide of the mark, however.

The Chiefs launch a counter-attack, from inside their 22, and Fruean is soon in the clear, just outside the Crusaders' 22! He offloads to Cruden who goes over the try-line but McNicholl makes a try-saving tackle which knocks the ball from Cruden's grasp!
We're back! The big news is that Bleyendaal has been replaced by Tom Taylor, who gets the second half started! His kick is gathered by Ngatai, who boots the ball upfield but fails to find touch.
Crusaders 0 Chiefs 8
YELLOW CARD, CHIEFS, TAMEIFUNA! Ben Tameifuna is pinned for side entry at a ruck. Bleyendaal gets another chance to open the homeside's account but for the fifth time he misses the target! The whistle to indicate half-time goes shortly after this and the sides head into the sheds. Both sides will be disappointed with that effort, especially as they each have a man in the sin bin. The Crusaders have had most of the territory and possession but they've failed to convert this dominance into points. They'll have to come to the party if they want something from this game. The Chiefs have absorbed the pressure and will look to kick on after the break.
PENALTY, CHIEFS, CRUDEN! 0-8. Cruden extends the visitors' lead after Tim Perry is pinned for a high tackle on the Chiefs' pivot.
Mils Muliaina leaves the field and is replaced by James Lowe. There's still uncertainty whether it was a blood replacement or if it's a permanent change.
YELLOW CARD, CRUSADERS, BIRD! Dominic Bird will spend the next 10 minutes in the sin bin after he plays the ball with his hands at a ruck. This follows after referee Chris Pollock has warned his side on several occasions for repeating this offence.

The Crusaders pack put huge pressure on their counterparts at a scrum inside the Chiefs' 22. Kane Thompson does well to gather at the base of the scrum but the Chiefs gain a reprieve when McCaw is pinned for straying offside.
Cruden launches a chip kick, inside his 22, and Robbie Fruean gives chase! The former Crusader fails to gather and Charlie Ngatai boots the loose ball ahead. He's in a foot race with Johnny McNicholl but eventually both can only watch as the ball rolls into touch just outside the Crusaders' 22.

Aaron Cruden gets us underway! His kick is gathered superbly in mid-air by Sam Whitelock, who sets up a ruck just outside his 22.
The Crusaders have named Tyler Bleyendaal at fly-half in Dan Carter's absence. Carter is still on his early-season sabbatical and there's also no place in the starting XV for Clermont-bound wing former All Blacks wing Zac Guildford. Crusaders boss Todd Blackadder has named a team that includes three Crusader debutants plus a fourth on the bench. Tim Perry, who played his first Super Rugby game last year for the Blues, will make his first start for the Crusaders at loosehead prop. Outside centre Rey Lee-Lo is another player who made his Super Rugby debut last year (for the Hurricanes). New Zealand Sevens player, Nafi Tuitavake, was named in the Crusaders' wider training group for this year but has impressed enough during the pre-season to make his Super Rugby debut on the wing on Friday night. He'll be supported by Rob Thompson in the reserves.
The big news in the Chiefs camp is that former All Black Mils Muliaina will make his return to Super Rugby at full-back in this match. Former Crusader Robbie Fruean makes his debut at outside centre while ex-Highlanders prop Jamie Mackintosh also make his first appearance for the two-time defending champions.
