Yellow Card
YELLOW CARD, WARATAHS, PHIPPS! Nick Phipps is sent off after the visitors are caught offside for the third time inside a minute. It counts for little as the 'Tahs soon win a turnover and Foley boots the ball into touch when he hears the sound of the hooter to indicate full-time. The 'Tahs stepped up a gear grinded out the victory. The Stormers looked planless for most of the game and this loss means they are doomed to the bottom of the table.

The Stormers attack close to the 'Tahs' try-line but Kebble is held up, by Brendan McKibbin, as he goes over the try-line.

Silatolu Latu is on for Tatafu Polota-Nau and is soon pinged for a crooked throw-in at a line-out.

Beale tries to clear his line but his kick is charged down by Michael van der Spuy! Ashley-Cooper saves the day when he gathers the loose ball before setting up a ruck.

Carr is pinged for entering a ruck from the side. Foley puts the resulting penalty into touch on the hosts' 10-metre line.

PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY! 11-22. Foley steps up and guides the ball through the uprights after Oliver Kebble is pinged for a ruck infringement.

Beale stabs a beautifully-weighted grubber kick through which Nic Groom gathers inside his 22. There are two defenders closing in and he's forced to run the ball into touch at the corner flag.

The Stormers attack close to the Waratahs' 22 but lose possession when Grant is penalised for not releasing the ball on the ground after taking a big hit from Hooper.

PENALTY, WARATAHS, BEALE! 11-19. Beale slots another three-pointer after the home side's front row is pinged for an indiscretion at a scrum.

The Stormers are awarded a tap penalty after the visitors are pinged for an early shove at a scrum. Grant boots the ball aimlessly upfield and Beale gathers inside his 22 before putting the ball out just inside the home side's 22.

PENALTY, STORMERS, GRANT! 11-16. Grant narrows the gap to five points after several Waratahs are penalised for being offside.

Referee Glen Jackson asks the TMO to check after De Jongh barges over from close quarters. The TMO rules that De Jongh propelled himself forward using his knee, so the try is disallowed.

Skelton is penalised for sacking a maul illegally. Grant kicks for touch and puts the ball out about five metres from the visitors' try-line.

PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY! 8-16. Foley makes no mistake, from the kicking tee, after Steven Kitshoff is blown up for illegal scrummaging.

Taute holds onto the ball on the ground, after taking the ball into contact. Foley kicks for touch and puts the ball out on the Stormers' 10-metre line.

PENALTY, WARATAHS, BEALE! 8-13. Beale adds another three-pointer after Carr is pinged for straying offside.

The Waratahs are on the attack and Tatafu Polota-Nau is stopped just short of the try-line by Deon Fourie. The Stormers get out of jail when Will Skelton is pinged for side-entry at the ensuing ruck.

Foley gets the second half underway! Peter Betham gives chase but knocks on in the air and the Stormers gain possession.

Half Time
Stormers 8 Waratahs 10

Jaco Taute takes a shot at goal after Sekope Kepu is pinged for side-entry at a ruck. His effort is from just inside his half but is wide of the mark and also well short. The 'Tahs allow the ball to roll over the dead-ball and hooter goes off to signal half-time. As the scoreline suggests, it's been a close affair and hopefully there's more attacking after the interval.

Peter Grant leaves the field, for a concussion test, after a clash of heads with Alofa Alofa. He is replaced by Demetri Catrakilis.

The Stormers attack with their backs, just inside the 'Tahs' 22, but De Jongh stabs through a chip kick which sails directly into touch.

PENALTY, WARATAHS, FOLEY! 8-10. Foley puts his side back in front after Ruan Botha is pinged for being offside.

The Waratahs attack inside the hosts' 22 and Kurtley Beale and Peter Betham carry strongly. Phipps spots a gap but is rocked by a huge hit from Kolisi!

Louis Schreuder launches an up-and-under and Nizaam Carr does brilliantly to knock it backwards in the air! Frans Malherbe tries to gather the loose ball but knocks on.

Douglas is penalised for a high tackle but Grant''s shot at goal hits the upright and the Waratahs scramble before gathering the loose ball.

Potgieter is penalised for playing the ball from an offside position after Phipps knocked it on. Grant kicks for touch and puts the ball out on the visitors' 22.

TRY, STORMERS, VAN WYK! 8-7. Juan makes a break and tears the visitors' defence to shreds! He offloads to Kobus van Wyk wh oscores in the left-hand corner!

The Stormers launch a drive, close to the halfway mark, but Will Skelton is soon penalised when he enters the maul from the wrong side. Grant puts the penalty out inside the visitors' 22.

The Stormers attack inside the Waratahs' half and Damian de Allende spots a gap and kicks ahead. Sailosi Tagicakibau gives chase but can only watch as the ball rolls into touch deep inside the visitors' 22.

CONVERSION, WARATAHS, FOLEY! 3-7. Bernard Foley adds the extras to extend the visitors' lead!

TRY, WARATAHS, PHIPPS! 3-5. Nick Phipps pounces when the ball spills out at the back of the hosts' scrum. He gathers after Vermeulen fails to control it and dives over for the opening try!

Michael Hooper does well when he gathers the ball at the restart! The visitors are on the attack and set up several phases until they are soon inside the Stormers' quarter. Potgieter and Ashley-Cooper carry well but then Benn Robinson knocks on.

PENALTY, STORMERS, GRANT. 3-0. Grant gets the game's opening points after Dave Dennis pinged for playing Ruan Botha in the air at a line-out.

The Stormers take the ball through several phases with their forwards and Deon Fourie and Siya Kolisi are promineny ball-carriers. They are soon inside the 'Tahs' 22 but Steven Kitshoff is robbed on the ground by Kane Douglas.

The Waratahs get the put-in at the first scrum. Nick Phipps gathers under huge pressure and is brought to ground by Nizaam Carr. Phipps is soon pinged for holding onto the ball on the ground and Grant puts the resulting penalty out on the visitors' 10-metre line.

The Waratahs are doing the early attacking. Jacques Potgieter takes the ball into contact but is knocked off his stride by a huge hit from Duane Vermeulen!

Kick Off
Peter Grant gets underway! His kick is deep and Adam Ashley-Cooper gathers before setting off on a run. He is tackled, just outside his 22, by Michael Rhodes.

Stormers number eight Duane Vermeulen will captain the home side as regular captain Jean de Villiers will sit out this week with a meniscal cyst, with Damian de Allende starting in his place at inside centre. Kobus van Wyk will take De Allende's place in the number 14 jersey, with Jaco Taute starting at full-back in place of the injured Gio Aplon and Michael van der Spuy moving onto the bench, having last featured against the Lions in February. Up front, meanwhile, the fit-again Ruan Botha (ankle) takes the place of Jurie van Vuuren at number four lock in the only change to the pack this week, with Tazz Fuzani (on the bench) the only uncapped member of the matchday 23.

The Waratahs head into this match without the services of try-scoring superstar full-back Israel Folau. He hasn't recovered in time from a throat injury so Kurtley Beale will wear the number 15 jersey in this clash. Beale swaps roles with Jono Lance, who moves to inside centre. With Rob Horne suspended, Alofa Alofa returns to the team on the right wing, partnering Peter Betham who remains on the left. With Wycliff Palu ruled out with an ankle injury suffered in the loss to the Sharks in Durban, Cheika has been forced to reshuffle his back row. Captain Dave Dennis has been moved to number eight and Jacques Potgieter finds himself in his favourite spot in the back row. With Potgieter out of the tight five, man mountain Will Skelton gets his chance and will start at lock alongside Kane Douglas.

Hello and welcome to Newlands Stadium in Cape Town for this Super Rugby clash between the home side, the Stormers, and the Waratahs. We'll be back soon with team news.
