FULL-TIME: CLERMONT 22-16 LEICESTER
They are so close...so close but so far! A penalty five metres from the Clermont line! There are eight seconds left, that will do it for the hosts. The streak continues - just - but great credit to the Tigers for coming back from 16-0 down to push Les Jaunards so close. Another pulsating Heineken Cup quarter-final, Clermont to the last four yet again. Thanks for joining us.
Oh my...scrum penalty for the visitors! And Flood can boot them right down into the 22. The Tigers with less than two minutes. A converted try for a place in the semi-finals.
The scrum going up again and again, Rolland warning both front rows. Clock ticking away. Leicester need seven to win.
Toby Flood is also on for the visitors.
Harem-scarem rugby here, now. Play breaking up, four minutes to go. Leicester in possession and win the scrum on the Clermont 10m line. Waldrom is back on.
And an early hit is called at the scrum, so Leicester can bang this downfield.
Spilled forward in the end, the Tigers clinging on.
The contact area is messy, another scrum in the away 22. Potential for another penalty here, and one that would take the hosts beyond a score in front.
Unsurprisingly, the scrum - eight v seven - yields another Clermont penalty. James takes play up to the visitors' 22 with a great kick.
Youngs' probing kick for the corner bounces just the wrong side of the corner flag. Clermont scrum up on the 10m line.
PENALTY, CLERMONT, PARRA! 22-16 Somewhat reserved from Rougerie, he plays safe and opts for three points rather than the corner with the Tigers - who are being smashed up front - a man down.
They do, but the ball will come back at them yet again. There's another maul infringement, and as promised, Alain Rolland goes to his pocket. Thomas Waldrom, barely on the field, is marching back off it.
Good defence again from the Tigers in their own 22. They have to nail the lineout, though.
Good decision from Goneva to rush up in defence facing a three-on-one overlap. He spills but saves a potential try. Clermont scrum 40 metres out.
PENALTY, LEICESTER, WILLIAMS! 19-16 This is far, far closer than it should be. But the Tigers are sensing something now. Still twenty minutes to go here at Michelin.
What a take on the run from Scully! He's won his team a penalty on the 22 too. Great kick from Williams, great chase from the American to beat Buttin. Williams can cut the gap, incredibly, to just three points...
It's a poor kick, hooked well wide of the uprights. But it is a warning for the visitors.
Another home penalty from side entry into a maul, Ed Slater is warned by Rolland. He's losing patience, and the crowd are fuming. James goes for goal this time, long way out.
The Tigers pressed back in their own 22 again but break away quite magnificently through Goneva and Allen. They're looking a lot better here, and the seed of doubt has been sewn in the minds of these Clermont players. Tuilagi gets bundled out in the 22, and the hosts can clear courtesy of a penalt. But the Tigers are well in this.
PENALTY, LEICESTER, WILLIAMS! 19-13 The 22-year-old has stepped up and nailed it once again. Super kick from this young pivot. From 16-0 down, the Tigers are back. Clermont have a game on their hands.
Jamie Cudmore's refusal to give the pass after Bonnaire made a fantastic steal could cost Clermont three more points. Another 50-plus metre kick for Williams. And this would bring the Tigers back to within a score...
The crowd howl and whistle as Rolland awards the Tigers a scrum penalty despite Clermont's ascendancy in that set-piece. Breathing space for Leicester.
Clermont continue to threaten in midfield, Rougerie and Fofana making good ground when given flat ball to run onto. Nalaga spills on the 22 in comedy fashion, and the Tigers have a scrum.
There was a a cheap shot from Marcos Ayerza, but no more than a penalty, so Parra steps up to try and cancel out Williams' effort. He too hits the upright, and the gap remains at nine.
It's a penalty for the hosts, though, as the Tigers come in from the side of the maul. But we're going to check for foul play on the request of the TMO.
PENALTY, LEICESTER, WILLIAMS! 19-10 Big kick in every sense of the word from young Williams. Tigers back to within nine points.
They botch the lineout, but they win another penalty on halfway as Rougerie goes high on Tuilagi. It's a harsh call from Rolland, and Williams backs himself to go for three. Over 50 metres out.
Big chance for Leicester, who win a lineout deep in the Clermont 22. Parra castled and charged down, and Nalaga bundled out.
We're back underway in Clermont, and there's a nasty injury straight away to Scully, who was taken in the air by Nalaga.
HALF-TIME: CLERMONT 19-7 LEICESTER
PENALTY, CLERMONT, PARRA! 19-7
They'll have to settle for the penalty. I suspect the Tigers will settle for that too. It's been a one-sided first half, with Clermont simply blitzing the visitors in the tight and rumbling forward in the loose. That Jordan Crane try has given them a lifeline, though.
Here come Clermont again! Can they bag another try in the last minute of the half?
CONVERSION, LEICESTER, WILLIAMS! 16-7
TRY, LEICESTER, CRANE! 16-5 Wow! From nowhere, Leicester have scored! Great vision from Williams with a cross-kick in midfield, and Crane plays a "one-two" with Scully to score. Crucial, crucial try!
PENALTY, CLERMONT, PARRA! 16-0 No problem for Parra straight in front of the posts. They are in control.
Another penalty for the hosts, but the Tigers will be relieved it wasn't a try. Very, very close call.
Clermont once more rumbling their way forward, and just held up over the line after great charges from Lee and Buttin.
Butting presses Leicester back into their 22 yet again with another delicate punt into the corner.
...Off the post and wide. Points are vital, and the Tigers aren't taking them.
Penalty for the Tigers, though, it's a chance for Williams to get his side off the mark. Long way out...
PENALTY, CLERMONT, PARRA! 13-0 Over she goes, and Clermont pull away.
Clermont come forward again, and they're getting the decisions from Alain Rolland as another penalty is awarded to the hosts. Parra lines it up.
CONVERSION, CLERMONT, PARRA! 10-0 The scrum-half slots from out wide. Good luck, Leicester.
TRY, CLERMONT, FOFANA! 8-0 A fine try finished by the flying 12, but made by his captain. Rougerie spotted the space on the blindside, looped around to find the overlap, and great hands from Fofana and Zirakashvili to send the centre over.
Clermont dominating the early possession here, James kicking high to Tait a lot.
Matt Tait kicking well from hand early on, James giving plenty of ball to cover.
PENALTY, CLERMONT, PARRA! 3-0 Alain Rolland penalises Leicester in front of the posts after Fofana made another half-break. Parra knocks it over.
Good steal from Slater in the lineout, but Clermont will come again.
Rougerie wins the penalty against Tuilagi, though, and James with a super kick down into Tigers territory.
Nice kick from Williams takes the Tigers up to the home 22 once more, and the hosts' attempts to take it quickly result in a knock-on. Chance for the visitors to attack.
Wow, end to end stuff here at Michelin. Tigers deep in the home 22, then Fofana breaking out of defence and Clermont wind up with possession again.
Good kick from Youngs putting Buttin under pressure, and the young full-back spills. Clermont given the scrum, though.
Hines pushing the lifters in the lineout, though, and Leicester escape. Williams clears.
Lovely kick from Brock James, down into the Tigers' 22. Early pressure on the visitors' lineout.
Owen Williams has us underway!
Teams out here at Michelin, kick-off minutes away!
Richard Cockerill places faith in Welshman Owen Williams to handle the Michelin cauldron ahead of Toby Flood. Niki Goneva goes head-to-head with coutryman Naipolioni Nalaga on the wing, and Logovi'i Mulipola continues at tighthead in the absence of Dan Cole.
The hosts are to do without flying Kiwi Sitiveni Sivivatu, who was ruled out through injury midweek. Noa Nakaitaci replaces him out wide, with skipper Aurelien Rougerie at outside centre alongside the dazzling Wesley Fofana.
Hello, and welcome to Clermont's Marcel Michelin stronghold here in the Auvergne where Leicester Tigers are tasked with ending a 74 match winning streak. A place in the Heineken Cup semi-final is at stake - a burning want for Vern Cotter and the elder statesmen of this Clermont side - and kick-off is just half an hour away. Don't go anywhere!
