TRY, HURRICANES, MUTU! 39-20. Motu Mutu runs onto a pass from Barrett, inside the Blues' 22, and bursts through two tackles before crashing over! Barrett misses the conversion and the final whistle goes shortly afterwards. In the end it's an emphatic win for the home side, who certainly upped the ante after the interval. The Blues will have to go back to the drawing board as they conceded far too many turnovers which the Hurricanes converted into points.
Motu Matu'u is penalised for a ruck infringement and Marshall puts the ball into touch deep inside the 'Canes' 22.
Chris Smylie launches an up-and-under and Piutau comes to collect but knocks on!
Lolagi Visinia sets off on a run, inside the 'Canes' 22, but is brought to ground after taking a big hit from Jane.
Jeffery Toomaga-Allen runs onto a pass from Perenara, close to the Blues' try-line, but despite bursting through two tackles, he loses the ball as he goes over the line!
Brendon O'Connor carries powerfully, inside the 'Canes' half, before offloading to Liaki Moli, who goes to ground where Levave does well to win a crucial turnover!
CONVERSION, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 34-20. Barrett makes no mistake from the kicking tee and extends his side's lead.
TRY, HURRICANES, SMITH! 32-20. Julian Savea kicks ahead and the Blues fail to gather. The big wings boots ahead again and Conrad Smith beats Frank Halai in a race to the ball and dives onto it behind the Blues' try-line!
Vito is pinged for using his hands at a ruck. Marshall kicks for touch and puts the ball out five metres inside the Hurricanes' half.
Moala runs onto a pass from Marshall but makes little headway and soon hits the deck. To add insult to injury, for the visitors, Levave steals the ball at the ensuing ruck.
PENALTY, BLUES, MARSHALL! 27-20. Marshall narrows the gap to seven points after Barrett is pinged for a ruck infringement.
Kaino gathers a loose ball and sets off on a run before offloading to Keven Mealamu! The veteran hooker makes some ground before being tackled by Jane.
CONVERSION, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 27-17. Barrett slots the conversion which also means his now scored 500 Super Rugby points.
TRY, HURRICANES, PERENARA! 25-17. The Hurricanes launch an attack from inside their half and Jane is in the clear before throwing an inside pass which Faifili Levave gathers on the ground. He offloads to Perenara who gets over the whitewash!

TRY, HURRICANES, SAVEA! 18-17. Victor Vito and Reggie Goodes carry well until the ball goes out wide to the ''Canes backs and Barrett throws an inside pass to Julian Savea, who crashes over!
The Hurricanes take the ball through the phases, close to the Blues' try-line, with their forwards. Jeremy Thrush and James Broadhurst are prominent ball-carriers but the Blues keep them at bay with a solid defensive effort.
TJ Perenara feeds Barrett from the back of the scrum, just inside the ''Canes'' half and Barrett launches a chip kick which bobbles around inside the Blues'' 22. Moala tries to gather but knocks on!
Barrett gets the second half started with a deep kick which Kaino gathers. He sets off on a run and is brought to ground by Cory Jane just outside his 22.

CONVERSION, BLUES, MARSHALL! 13-17. Marshall adds the two-pointer and it's the blues who go into the break in front! The Hurricanes have done most of the attacking but are behind on the scoreboard. The blues have come back strongly during the latter stages of the half and will look to build on their lead after the break.
TRY,PENALTY TRY, BLUES! 13-15. The Blues opt for a scrum, from the resulting penalty and put huge pressure on the ''Canes at the set-piece! One of the host''s loose forwards breaks free and plays the ball before it leaves the scrum and the referee has no hesitation in awarding the penalty try.
YELLOW CARD, HURRICANES, COLES! Dane Coles is sent to the sin bin after he fails to release Marshall, after making a tackle in front of the hosts' posts.
Noakes has been in the wars the last couple of minutes and is replaced by Benji Marshall. Looks like Noakes is off for a concussion test. He could be back later.
The TMO is called into make a crucial call again after Dane Coles gets over in the Blues' corner! It's a spectacular dive from the hooker but his effort is also disallowed.
Barrett gets a chance to extend his side's lead, after the Blues are penalised for a ruck infringement, but his effort is wide of the mark.
Noakes runs onto a pass from Bryn Hall but is nailed by a big hit from Barrett! The 'Canes pivot kicks ahead and Charles Piutau comes to the visitors' rescue when he dives onto the loose ball inside his 22.
CONVERSION, BLUES, NOAKES! 13-10. Noakes slots the conversion, from up against the touchline, which narrows the gap to three points!
TRY, BLUES, MOALA! 13-8. The Blues forwards go on the drive, at a line-out on the home side's five-metre line. Patrick Tuipulotu breaks away and offloads to George Moala, who scores in the right-hand corner!
The Blues attack at a scrum inside the 'Canes' 22 but it all comes to nothing when Braid is pinged for holding back Jack Lam. Barrett puts the resulting penalty into touch close to the halfway line.
Barrett attacks down the blindside before kicking ahead for Leiua to chase! He gathers and throws a pass to Julian Savea who gets over the Blues'' try-line! Referee Nick Briant checks the final pass with his TMO, who rules that it was forward.
Barrett has another shot at goal from distance but this time his effort is wide of the uprights.

TRY, HURRICANES, LEIUA! 11-3. The 'Canes' forwards and backs combine well and they are soon inside the Blues' 22. The ball comes out to the backs and Alapati Leiua bursts through a poor tackle from Francis Saili before scoring under the posts!
Barrett launches a bomb at Jerome Kaino drops it! That means the 'Canes get the put in at the first scrum.
PENALTY, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 6-3. The 'Canes are awarded a penalty, about 45 metres out. Barrett steps up and his effort just about creeps over the cross-bar!

Hurricanes boss Mark Hammett has made just one change to his starting XV with Reggie Goodes coming in at prop for Ben Franks. Franks has been ruled out with a groin strain, while Brad Shields took a knock to the knee on Monday which has kept him off the team sheet. Backs Tim Bateman and Chris Smylie return to the reserves after injury spells, while Motu Matu'u, Ardie Savea and Matt Proctor have also been named in the reserves. There's also a late change on the bench where back-up prop John Schwalger has withdrawn through injury. His place is taken by Brendan Edmonds.
The Blues were forced into a late change when Ma'a Nonu had to withdraw due to a calf injury, He has been replaced by Jackson Willison. Earlier, Blues head coach Sir John Kirwan has made seven changes to his starting XV. Fresh off the bye, the Blues welcome back a number of key players from injury including veteran hooker Keven Mealamu who forms an all-All Blacks front row alongside Tony Woodcock and Charlie Faumuina. Locks Patrick Tuipulotu and Tom Donnelly have also overcome injuries to form a strong second row, while captain Luke Braid returns to the starting XV after coming off the bench against the Brumbies. Steven Luatua shifts from number eight to his preferred position of blindside flanker, trading places with the abrasive Jerome Kaino who bolsters the back of the scrum. In the backs, Chris Noakes has been given the nod to start at first fly-half ahead of youngster Simon Hickey who drops out of the match day 23. Willison and Francis Saili feature in a powerful midfield combination, while livewire winger Lolagi Visinia will make his first start of the season in place of Frank Halai.
